Countryside & Environment
These qualifications are for students who have a passion or a career interest working within the countryside or environmental sectors. Through a combination of practical experience and written assignments, these courses will provide a wide range of levels to accommodate mixed ability students. The variation of land based courses will give students the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for a career in such industries.
BTEC Countryside and Environment Qualifications On Offer:
♦ Level 2 Certificate in Countryside and Environment
♦ Level 2 Extended Certificate in Countryside and Environment
♦ Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Countryside and Environment
♦ Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Countryside and Environment
If a student is in KS4 and is looking for a pathway which includes topics such as the above, then our usual route is for them to study the Level 2 Certificate or Extended Certificate in Countryside and Environment. We are open to discussions for students who may have a wealth of knowledge or for high achievers to study the more advanced courses within KS4. Such courses are an ideal option for those intending to progress directly to employment in a land based sector, or to a land based apprenticeship.
Post-16 students who may not have joined us for KS4, are able to complete the earlier level courses that are delivered during years 10 and 11. For advanced Post-16 students, when the level two qualification is achieved, the Level 3 National Extended Certificate or the Foundation Diploma would be logical next steps and this could be carried out in Post16 (pending individual progress of students).
